It takes about nine days for an egg to get to the stage when it will peel cleanly when you boil one, or so we were told by the old lady who ran the feed store. I've had to turn away customers who wanted to buy eggs to make deviled eggs because ours never stay unbought that long. Interesting poem, I suspect it would take a month to unpack it.
