JD Vance on ranked choice voting: "I don't understand it. It seems to me that you have an election, the person who wins the most votes should win. That seems to be not what happens with ranked choice voting. The fact that it's so confusing to a person who pays pretty close attention to politics I think suggests we should do our elections in, like, the normal way."

Gee, tens of thousands of Mainers, lots of them never graduating from high school get it. Reminds me of an episode of that dreadful program, Paper Chase where the white kid who was central to the series was told by John Huston that he very well could have been admitted to Yale Law under affirmative action for white rural kids from the Mid-West. Much to the brat's surprise. J. D. Vance could be an affirmative action admission, one who didn't get in because he was particularly bright. Though, given the thugs and criminals the Ivys have supplied to the Republican-fascists, that isn't a one off.
ReplyDeleteMake that John Houseman. Minds going on autocorrect this morning and it doesn't work.
DeleteFrom the interviews with Alaskans in the Peltola post elsewhere, I’d say the voters of Alaska know what they’re doing, too.
