Something purely political, for a moment.
Paul Krugman is back on the Op-Ed page of the New York Times, and with good reason. The President is saying Social Security will need a loan of $1 trillion in order to "save it." (We'll have more to say about "saviors" secular and religious a bit later on.)
Krugman, not surprisingly, cries foul.
"For Social Security is a government program that works, a demonstration that a modest amount of taxing and spending can make people's lives better and more secure. And that's why the right wants to destroy it."
