The Real Nightmare before Christmas
"This really brings Christmas close to a person."*
*Yes, it's real. And it's magnificent. Well, for a sweater that's actually a "100% cotton sweatshirt."
Putting aside the supreme irony of snakes in relation to the verse allegedly revered by Cruz's fundamentalist tradition about the woman who will crush the head of the snake (Mary giving birth to the redeemer of the sin of Adam and Eve provoked by the guile of the snake, in a common Christian interpretation) - no, on second thought, NOT putting that aside, I would like to ask them where the "don't tread on me" and the policies of Cruz are found in the Gospels.
I'm beginning to really have second thoughts about the quality in the prophesy of John the Divine when I see stuff like this. The Republican-right is the best candidate for the actual Antichrist I've located in recent history.
There are times when I've thought Revelation should not have been included in the scriptural canon. The imagery is marvelous, but the book has been the cause of much trouble among Christians. Of course, a good deal of the imagery in John's fevered visions is lifted from the Hebrew Testament.
I posted the picture on my Facebook page telling my friends I was sending in a bulk order and to leave their names if they wanted one or more. I don't know about the rest of them, but I'm buying mine to tread on it.
Let me guess, made in China.

ReplyDeleteBy the way, is the sweatshirt real or a joke?
ReplyDeleteNever mind. The sweatshirt is the real thing.
ReplyDeleteJune--sorry, I had a link in there, but apparently it didn't "stick."
