This weekend had some weird, subtle feeling of being a transition on which that I can't quite put my finger.— Rick Wilson (@TheRickWilson) April 8, 2019
Somehow going unknown....

This is the point that folks are missing - it wasn’t just one thing. It was a series of incidents where potus wanted to push the bounds of what is legal. https://t.co/aZSV796M8i— Maggie Haberman (@maggieNYT) April 8, 2019
(sorry to be so blunt, but when even the NYT reporter sees it....)
Can confirm this good NBC story. Despite having signed an executive order reversing the automatic family separation policy last summer, @realDonaldTrump has in recent months told his aides that he wants it back, saying it’s the best way to deter migrants. https://t.co/u1Aifi8zAT— Michael D. No, really:
EXCLUSIVE from @JuliaEAinsley and me: President Trump has for months now urged his administration to reinstate large-scale separation of migrant families crossing the border, according to three U.S. officials with knowledge of meetings at the White House.— Geoff Bennett (@GeoffRBennett) April 8, 2019
Kirstjen Nielsen resisted, setting her at odds with the president. According to 2 of the sources, Nielsen told Trump that federal court orders prohibited DHS from reinstating the policy & that he would be reversing his own executive order from June that ended family separation.— Geoff Bennett (@GeoffRBennett) April 8, 2019
Trump has been pushing this policy since January, the sources said.— Geoff Bennett (@GeoffRBennett) April 8, 2019
A senior administation official says they believe Trump is convinced that family separation has been the most effective policy at deterring large numbers of asylum seekers.
One more reason we have to get rid of the courts, I assume.
David Greene this morning asserted, in connection with Nielsen's departure, that Trump had ended the family separation policy, so why were we still talking about it? Wonder how much longer that narrative is going to be operative. And still, this didn't happen:

Did I miss the weeks of media outrage over the president invoking a dual loyalty trope? https://t.co/2dViJxPTg0— Brian Tashman (@briantashman) April 8, 2019
Largely because anti-semitism is now defined as "somebody who is hated by Jews," and the simple fact is no American Jewish organization condemned the anti-semitic things Trump said. But the Kirjsten Nielsen firing has all the juicy elements of good gossip, It's not just the horse race that draws eyeballs. Everybody wants to know why Regina is on the outs with Cady.
