West Side Story

Lots of talk recently about political identification (especially political party) is formed at an early age. Racist xenophobic attitudes are, too. Donald Trump was 15 when "West Side Story" premiered. Using Puerto Ricans as "outsiders" was not an idea Bernstein invented; he was using what NYC culture provided, a dichotomy immediately recognizable to his audience.
Coincidence? I think not.
(The fish rots from the head.)
Also wondering: did Texas and Florida "take from [the] USA"? Or are they part if the USA? Just as Puerto Rico is.
