— Maggie Haberman (@maggieNYT) April 2, 2019Lots of talk recently about political identification (especially political party) is formed at an early age. Racist xenophobic attitudes are, too. Donald Trump was 15 when "West Side Story" premiered. Using Puerto Ricans as "outsiders" was not an idea Bernstein invented; he was using what NYC culture provided, a dichotomy immediately recognizable to his audience.
Coincidence? I think not.White House spokesman twice calls Puerto Rico "that country" in TV interview https://t.co/XRqtq6FI05— The Washington Post (@washingtonpost) April 2, 2019

Also wondering: did Texas and Florida "take from [the] USA"? Or are they part if the USA? Just as Puerto Rico is.Puerto Rico got 91 Billion Dollars for the hurricane, more money than has ever been gotten for a hurricane before, & all their local politicians do is complain & ask for more money. The pols are grossly incompetent, spend the money foolishly or corruptly, & only take from USA....— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) April 2, 2019
