DOJ attorneys put their credibility on the line when they say things to Judges they have to appear before in 100s of cases. Barr should know that and stand up for these attorneys whose credibility and integrity is being shredded & sacarficed for Trump’s political agenda. https://t.co/Vi03yuE5g0

As with Barr's seeming line in the sand past which he won't put himself at risk of being held in contempt of Congress, it only matters to these legal thugs if it will impinge on their own interests directly and consequentially. I read what was said by the DoJ attorneys in court and wondered what happens when the Judge thinks they're lying to him. There should be a law that a lawyer giving what is, in effect, testimony who lies should be guilty of perjury or something. Presenting lies as facts by lawyers should count as much as someone untrained in the law fibbing or flubbing the facts about some less consequential thing.
ReplyDeleteIt can be contempt of court. It's actually very serious. That's why lawyers withdraw in these circumstances. DOJ lawyers don't have that option.
DeleteThis is a very bad situation for them.
