If nothing else, we’re seeing what happens when a man without any moral intelligence abuses the power of the presidency. https://t.co/1TYqvHbVQd— Daniel W. Drezner (@dandrezner) November 16, 2019
BTW, Roger Stone: step away from the mailbox. That pardon ain't comin'.
They got Roger Stone https://t.co/2V3yAF8ngn— Harry Siegel (@harrysiegel) November 15, 2019
Trump has never faced a criminal investigation. If that straight line continues to him, what are the odds he fares no better with a jury than Stone did?
Trump ignored Pentagon advice on military pardons. Searing testimony today from a career ambassador showed his estrangement from the foreign service. Three years in, Trump is shoving aside his own administration more than ever. https://t.co/QQwFeFlNGc— Kevin Liptak (@Kevinliptakcnn) November 16, 2019
And yet the spectators in the hearing room didn't give Trump a standing ovation.
Be careful what you ask for; you might get it. Trump wants to be the strong man who does it all himself. At the same time, he's gonna want to blame Giuliani (and probably a few others) for "going rogue." That's not gonna work. At least he was right; Stone was convicted for lying.
Gonna be his turn, soon. Either in the Senate trial, or before the voters; or maybe a jury, sometime after January 2020.
