Trump is not "pro-faith," and his policies are not "strong religious" ones. They are about exerting power over others by a small group of people. Which is the very antithesis of religion (which at heart is about human community) and especially of Christianity (which is about the power of powerlessness).
I've gotten to the point where I think we need ore condemnation within Christianity. Way too many things that are the antithesis of Christianity gets to call itself that without opposition. Maybe that's what happens when people care less about religion. "Whited sepulcher" is not used for specific people nearly enough.
