BERLIN (Reuters) - Berlin is trying to stop Washington from persuading a German company seeking a coronavirus vaccine to move its research to the United States, prompting German politicians to insist no country should have a monopoly on any future vaccine.— Ben Siegel (@benyc) March 15, 2020
Xenophobia is not a cure.
So, I saw that tweet first, and thought: "Well, Trump just wants to grab the glory and be able to call another press conference to announce a vaccine is going to be developed in America soon." Nope, not that simple:
Germany's health ministry is confirming this bombshell story from German media outlet @welthttps://t.co/h1rgaNGn9b pic.twitter.com/iJqqIhpgNn— Aman Batheja (@amanbatheja) March 15, 2020
Yeah, Trump wants a cure for Americans, "but only for Americans." Which is why he wants the Germans working on it, to work on it in America.
Let that sink in.
And while we're here, the GOP keeps trying to own the libs:
“If you’re healthy, you and your family, it’s a great time to go out and go to a local restaurant, likely you can get in easy. Let’s not hurt the working people in this country...go to your local pub” pic.twitter.com/jXdhOfwe9R— Acyn Torabi (@Acyn) March 15, 2020
Surprisingly, not everyone in the GOP. Never thought I'd see the day when Ted Cruz was the responsible Senator from Texas:
