Stat of the day: New Navigator Research (D) tracking finds 40 percent of *Trump voters* believe the prez didn’t take coronavirus threat seriously enough — a 17-pt spike in just over a week.https://t.co/ghJrXV8ruB— Josh Kraushaar (@HotlineJosh) April 4, 2020
Well, this means Trump probably won't be around after next January, which will be good for one and all then.
But for right now, this news doesn't make one more person less at risk. Actions have consequences, and this is a democracy. All are punished. All are responsible.
Sucks, don't it?
I had a long talk with a relative who works for one of the towns around here. He says that from what they're told now, it's expected to peak here in the next month and he's told the town officials that they will certainly be faced with members of boards, employees of the town, maybe members of the town council dying during it. He said he didn't think some of them took it seriously until he hammered that point to them. And that's with the Governor being one of the relatively early ones to issue a stay-at-home order. This is going to be grim everywhere but it's going to hit Trump country especially hard because of the irresponsibility of him and other Republicans. And I think it's dangerous not to point that out because the virus might not have been a product of Republican style irresponsibility but everything about their guiding ideology has made it magnitudes worse. MAGNI "Magnitudes worse" maybe it should go on a hat, or something.
