...for a scholarly, which is to say as objective as humanly possible, review and examination of this subject. I'm a critic of the "carceral state," but that doesn't mean I'm right and you all are wrong. The article is very good at recognizing that, but still, it's a subject that deserves clear-eyed analysis and discussion.
