GG: the media must cover Hunter Biden, who has not been charged with anything. It’s censorship when people try to edit my Hunter story!

Also GG: Matt Gaetz has not been charged with anything. Coverage of his case is indicative of the decline of journalistic standards pic.twitter.com/JuNAN8544O
Glenn Greenwald is a clown (what else is new?) But this take makes you wonder if he remembers anything about the law.A reminder that in the end, Greenwald doesn't have a political view on anything other than that people should be paying attention to Glenn Greenwald. https://t.co/pVLrJyr33D

Matt Gaetz is being investigated for alleged violations of the Mann Act. That act makes it a crime to pay minors across state lines, or transport them across state lines, for the purposes of sex. The age of consent in the Mann Act is what matters to the charges against Gaetz, not the age of consent in Florida or in any other state of the union.“private adult consensual behavior” when she was a literal minor. arguing the morality of age of consent regarding high schoolers and almost 40yo men. really sick stuff glen.

He needs another megathief from the NSA to give him a bunch of stolen information on who knows how many thousands of private citizens again.
ReplyDeleteWhat is most shocking to me is how many on the alleged left see him, Snowden, Poitras, etc. as heroes. I have to wonder if the allegedly educated class always had this little sense of coherence and it's just become obvious through the internet and unedited public exposure of peoples' mental limits or if we've really become stupider as a quasi-religious sense of the truth being important has diminished with increased secularism.
As Yeats asked: "How can you know the dancer from the dance?"
ReplyDeleteI've pretty much given up trying to separate cause from effect in those issues. I think the only answer is "Yes." The "educated class" had a monopoly on the discussion for a long time, and people like Buckley (a pompous racist with a large vocabulary, and little more) were considered intelligent and worthy of consideration. Then again, who else was talking/being listened to?
The internet supposedly revealed the Jeffersonian "wisdom of the people," but we forget Jefferson was no Andrew Jackson. Tommy would have despised Andy and his supporters as cretins and know-nothings. He wouldn't have been 100% wrong, but then again, who put him in the position of judgment?
Me, I just wonder how anything gets done. Except that it must keep happeningi every day, I'd say that's a miracle in itself.
