I was getting tired waiting for this to happen. Well, and this, too:

Pro-Trump radio host Seb Gorka is in a super awkward position this afternoon because over the past couple of weeks he kept telling their audience that Trump wasn't going to return come August - and now his audience is starting to turn on him for not being pro-Trump enough.

Surely not. And surely we are all the richer for it. But the real reason I came here was this:

So, the TX06 election where Trump was so "influential" had a ridiculously low turnout, which actually indicates Trump was of little or no influence at all (he endorsed the widow of the office holder, who would have carried through on name recognition alone.  And he endorsed so close to election day it's impossible to say what good he did; but obviously he didn't do much, as there's a runoff for that election.)  And he can't even be used as an excuse for the NM race.

So Trump is not driving people to the polls; and there's no evidence he's driving people away from the polls.  Where, then, is the awesome political power of Trump?  Except among officeholders who are always afraid of what happened in the last election, and fix their world in amber until the amber is reset by the next election?

Biden is 78 years old; Trump is 75. Trump is already saying his health might prevent him from running again in 2024. Can anyone imagine a 78 year old Trump on a bicycle? Or the 75 year old one, for that matter?

I'm only surprised the GOP hasn't (yet) made a talking point about the POTUS "acting his age."
