I’m not much for Freudian symbolism, but could this rocket be more obviously phallic?Blue Origin has launched pic.twitter.com/Z594pHsyCV

Compare and contrast what Jeff Bezos is doing with his billions, v. what his ex-wife is doing with hers.
So far these rich men have done nothing government didn’t do first. I remember’50’s era science fiction about private enterprise putting rockets into space first. They got that exactly backwards. The egotism that drove those characters they did get right.
(I am reassured that it’s not just me:)

Bezos will always have to live with the knowledge that he was only the second billionaire to bang space. I'm sure he considers RB a poor man. That must sting.
ReplyDeleteWell, Bezos is building a huge clock in a mountain in west Texas that nobody but his friends will ever see. It's safely away from the hoi polloi who made him rich, and won't even chime until the first 1000 years of it have passed (I don't think it's yet operational).
DeleteBy which time, who will care?
Bezos' ex-wife is turning him into the incredibly shrinking man. He's going to disappear behind his wealth, a sad excuse for a real human being. Zuckerberg's ghost.
