There is indeed nothing new under the sun. And the world didn’t fall into decay and corruption shortly after you started paying attention.
I can't recall which 19th century House member gave a florid speech insulting one of his opponents that talked about him "stinking and shining in the night like a decayed fish" as I recall reading. Then there's the cane attack on Senator Sumner.
ReplyDeleteWhen I want to feel better about the appalling behavior in the Congress I watch what goes on regularly in the Brit House of Commons, then I go to the entirely more sane Scottish National Assembly which shows me Scotland is a lot more ready for independence than England is.
