Meanwhile, in this country, we’re yelling at school boards and teachers. Maybe that’ll change, too, since Putin has given us a common enemy.
Well, at least education policy in New Hampshire will be getting worse at a slower pace. The legislator that purposes the "Teacher Loyalty Act" that would have banned teaching about communism, socialism or anything negative about the founding of the United States and our state, withdrew it on their own. My only guess can be a lot of negative feedback from constituents. The bill, proposed by the head of the department of education, to gut what counts as an essential education, it was going to eliminate arts, world languages, computer literacy, physical education, engineering and more, is also dead. The state education committee received mountains of negative comments about the bill. In response they have proposed instead adding financial literacy along with logic and rhetoric. The Republicans control the committee, even they could see instantly gutting the public schools was not an electoral winner.
