What’s the earliest major historical event you can remember?
The Army McCarthy hearings. Our mother hated Joe McCarthy, our father probably did too, then, but he was at work. I remember election night 1960 as the early returns and projections on the radio favored Nixon, she was beside herself, she hated Nixon too. So did our father in '68.
