So, did Trump put his thumb on the scales at just the right time, or did Thiel buy the race for Vance? Polling means bupkis. MSNBC reported this morning some candidate who was "surging" close to the end of the race didn't even place third in the end; out of a field of five. So, was it Trump? Or Thiel? Opinions vary; evidence is not to be found; or really even considered. Because we'll ask the polls, or blame the election day voters, because...why? We have polls? We have election results and we know to the person who voted early, and who showed up on election day? No, it's because we have polls, and the polls can't be wrong, only slightly out of date (all those pesky voters who show up at the polling place and ruin our predictions!). Let's go back to this:Some findings from the story:

Thiel gave an additional $1.5 mil to get Vance through the final week, putting him at $15 mil total for the primary - the most a donor has put behind a Senate candidate in historyhttps://t.co/af5shgPdGp
Really curious how well that's gonna work out.Yes, it is! There is no fascism & extreme populism without a cult of the leader. These fanatic cults are rooted in the lie that a normal person is not like any other person. https://t.co/NPRx1GDjXv
