Democracy Now? Or maybe…

So some prattling journo on “Washington Week” just said some Democrats wondered why Biden interrupted Trump reminding so many people why they don’t like Trump.

Probably because Biden understands a vote “for” is a more powerful motivator than a vote against. And ultimately Trump is not on the ballot and Biden’s in the White House. And polls say a top concern among voters is the state of democracy.

I think Biden understands offense wins elections. Maybe more Democrats need to learn that, too. Trump is offensive; but that’s not a form of “offense.”

  1. Democratic presidents, Clinton, Obama have tried weak and it was a dispiriting disaster. Biden had so much more political experience than both of those two and their closest advisors (other than Biden, himself) put together including watching the self-defeating "bipartisanship" of both. He's taken a gamble but as it's a gamble taken from what will appeal to his base instead of betray them, it's a better one than the one that Clinton and Obama took that appeals to the DC-NYC-Atlanta media-punidit class.
