Offense wins elections.
Probably because Biden understands a vote “for” is a more powerful motivator than a vote against. And ultimately Trump is not on the ballot and Biden’s in the White House. And polls say a top concern among voters is the state of democracy.
I think Biden understands offense wins elections. Maybe more Democrats need to learn that, too. Trump is offensive; but that’s not a form of “offense.”
Democratic presidents, Clinton, Obama have tried weak and it was a dispiriting disaster. Biden had so much more political experience than both of those two and their closest advisors (other than Biden, himself) put together including watching the self-defeating "bipartisanship" of both. He's taken a gamble but as it's a gamble taken from what will appeal to his base instead of betray them, it's a better one than the one that Clinton and Obama took that appeals to the DC-NYC-Atlanta media-punidit class.
