...as the most despised man in the Senate..@tedcruz is a useful study in human weakness. He has no self-respect & will do anything for attention & approval. He was universally disliked & shunned in Bush 2000 & none of the public degradations he embraces are surprising. He really is how 1930’s Germany happened. https://t.co/aKxntCrY9O

You have to understand that I like Ted Cruz probably more than my colleagues like Ted Cruz,” Sen. Al Franken (D-MN) told USA Today this week. “And I hate Ted Cruz.”
He went on to call Cruz “singularly dishonest” and “exceptionally smarmy.”
Cruz’s predecessor in Washington was Phil Gramm. Gramm was so personally obnoxious that when he ran for the GOP nomination in New Hampshire, his own campaign staff had to drag him out of one-one’s with people who wanted to vote for him. It was that obvious they were reconsidering their support.
Ted Cruz won re-election by only 3 points in an historically one-party state against a guy from El Paso (most of Texas has heard of El Paso from the song, and barely realize it’s a real city) nobody had ever heard of.
Cruz got nowhere in the GOP primary in 2016, with or without Trump. And now he’s the herald of the Third Reich? Who’s Hitler in this scenario? Trump? DeSantis? Kari Lake?
