I would also just point out the recent U.S. elections, which had more to do with partisanship (when my side wins it’s good sense prevailing, when your side wins it’s the collapse of civilization); gerrymandering; the power of incumbency, and frankly, the power of voters (“Gen Z saved us all”) than with the “manipulative power” of Big Tech (do Google and Apple and pre-Elon Twitter really give a shit who I vote for? Or is the “enemy,” as ever, us?).
