The TV/Twitter non-lawyers are msking me crazy. My point is twofold.

The more important part of it is--which no offense, the TV lawyers are missing--is the scope of the Jan6 mandate is far broader than just Trump. It necessarily includes, for example, Scott Perry, who is almost certainly a subject, given phone seizure.
This reminds me of complaints about porn: “I know it when I see it. So I have to keep looking for it!” 👀Looking at Trump’s reinstated Twitter feed makes me sick. All the most recent tweets are the ones that incited January 6th.

It likely includes the actions of AT LEAST the GOP members who were involved in pardon discussions: Gaetz, Biggs, Gohmert (ret), Brooks (ret), Greene. Jordan was involved in pardon discussions but did not ask for one.

Right there, you're already bumping up against GOP majority.
My second point, whether or not Jordan ever were to become a subject of the investigation, he's incredibly close to Perry and Meadows, both of whom likely ARE subjects. And he's demanding details of the investigation.

It will be far easier for Smith to say no than Garland to.
Chuck Todd on MTP just opined that Garland is a "pre-Trump" prosecutor,(whatever the hell that is) because this all could have been done months ago. I learned as a lawyer that everyone NOT involved in your case thinks it’s simple and why aren’t you through with it yet, while preparing a case for trial involves becoming an expert in the case as thoroughly as possible. Outside observers never see any of that, but are quite happy afterwards to tell you what you did wrong. And all that's before you consider what kind of "entity" (included in Garland's announcement) may have worked as an entity to overturn the election.

The Venn of those who did and members of the Freedom Caucus is quite close.
