Hitler used “new technology” to spread ancient tropes, too.  Not saying history is repeating itself, just that there’s nothing new under the sun. We always have to teach our children a better path. The irony is the Boomers learned that lesson and tried to teach it to their parents. Sometimes it runs that way.

1) “shadow banning” hasn’t been demonstrated because it never existed
2) bias against the “hard right” hasn’t been demonstrated. No data. No numbers on left v right.
3) “de-amplifying” is literally Musk’s current stated policy

There’s a lot more along the same lines but honestly, the “Twitter files” are just ignorant people who don’t understand what they’re reading looking for evidence of nefarious intent and finding it because, surprise! , they don’t understand what they’re reading. It’s not a reasoned analysis, it’s a snipe hunt. I saw it all in the Clinton years, but that was the NYT doing it. This is a web service most Americans don’t use or pay attention to, and a conspiracy theory that almost makes “Q” sound like a children’s tale. And I know “Q” was supposed to have destroyed democracy by now but, again, surprise! We’re still doing democracy!

If people start gathering in Dealey Plaza expecting Steve Jobs to show up and start arresting ex-Twitter employees, this conspiracy theory will be a contender. Otherwise, most people will never, ever hear of it, and fewer will care.
