We got down to 17 here on the Third Coast. Into the '20's even in Galveston Island. They usually run the A/C in Galveston for Xmas (and may still). Had a few pipes freeze, which surprised me. No damage, though. (For reasons I don’t understand the pipes in our 70 year old house are in the attic. So, prone to freezing when it’s cold enough. The only safeguard is to turn the water off at night.)19 degrees at my place.

In Florida terms, that’s like being showered liquid nitrogen.
We have small lizards in the yard. ๐ฆ The cold slowed them down, but hurt the plants far more. The only thing dropping out of the trees here is pine needles. And leaves from some of the more persistent oaks that never really go brown or fully leafless.¯\_(ใ)_/¯ pic.twitter.com/pUZzbzedcV

Any of my fellow New Englanders who thinks that of the weather this morning that way is welcomed to move. This is how it's supposed to be on Christmas morning here, frozen. I'm only upset that the disastrous warmth of Friday melted the snow that was protecting the land.
ReplyDeleteHappy Christmas and I hope you soon have the temperatures you are supposed to have where you live.
