Comes word Raquel Welch died today at 82.
I’m pretty sure this was the movie I first saw her in. I was just 11. She was the “girl.” I do remember Asimov’s novel version of his story. He made sure to describe the antibodies being confused by the 3-dimensionality of the “girl” in her wetsuit. Why they didn’t have a problem with her legs or arms was not explained. I’m also pretty sure that was the first time I read any reference to female breasts. Did I mention I was 11?
I did remember Ms. Welch after that movie. I was 11; I wasn’t dead.
Although the gap between 11 and 26 was vast, 15 years seems a much narrower gap today.
OMG, samesies, fr.
