The message that anti-LGBTQ+ bigots and fascists will receive from this is that making violent threats works.

They will get worse.

I get this from Schooley, who is currently part of the WGA strike. Which made me think most Target employees would kill for what WGA members earn (and yes, they deserve to earn more). My point is not to attack the WGA position on wages in any way. It’s just to say that most Target employees are making (probably) minimum wage; or little better. And yet most of the replies to this tweet (and the original) seem to think Target should put those employees in harm’s way so “the bad guys” don’t win? Are any of these people also engaged in mocking GOP officials who want to “own the libs”?

The Trump movement carries on like they have a majority but they demonstrably don't.

What they do have is a willingness to engage in threats and intimidation, like they did on J6, when they lost.

Attacking Pride displays follows the same premise.

Yes, but Target employees don’t have the Capitol Police to protect them.

Can’t really do that until after something happens by specific persons to specific persons.

And they’ll get worse at @target! You can already see it online. They will threaten and intimidate Target more than ever.

True, but Target is not selling “Pride” merchandise because all employees of Target are gay or because Target is an LGBTQ advocacy group. Target is just trying to make money off the stuff. They can’t force their employees to risk violence because Target wants to make a buck. 

Yes, it sucks that violence works. But do these armchair warriors want to take jobs at Target so they can bravely defend their displays of Pride merchandise against angry customers?

Against who, genius? The guy who just pistol whipped an hourly worker who can probably only afford Target because of the employee discount? A worker who probably doesn’t have health insurance? Or maybe the wacko who walks in armed and armored and takes out as many people standing as he can. It’s not like that couldn’t happen, either.

You can’t charge people with crimes until crimes are committed. You wanna be the first victim?
