More Noise From The Peanut Gallery

And, of course, we’re going to get a lot of this: My response has, admittedly, as much analytical weight as those 5 tweets: nobody foresaw the Texas GOP House impeaching Paxton. And I still see the Texas Senate removing him from office.

One cannot predict the future. One cannot predict what a jury will do. Jurors tend to take the trial, their duty, and the jury charge very seriously. Does Trump control Miami juries because he won the county in 2020? Even the state reps from Paxton’s home base in Collin County voted for his impeachment. And they aren’t jurors being instructed by a federal judge, or sitting through a trial of carefully presented evidence.

Trump’s bullshit and ballyhoo are not going to get in the courtroom door. Analysis of the jury pool by a political consultant is not an expert analysis. Jurors tend to take their job very seriously.

Everything depends now on the judge, the case presented by the DOJ, and the defense put on by Trump. What we know do far, Trump doesn’t have a defense he can present in court.

Sort of like the E. Jean Carroll case. Except for the presence of Trump in the courtroom, I expect much the same trial, and much the same outcome. And imagine the repercussions of a conviction in Florida, v. D.C.
