But I’m pretty much done with him.
The world really doesn’t need another high-profile Musk apologist/apple polisher.
I know many proclamation Musk a “great innovator.” But it’s all bollocks. Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley was a great innovator. Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak were great innovators.
Musk is a wanker.
Unless Tesla comes up with a solid state battery, and fast, its cars are soon to be expensive planters. And GM and Ford and Toyota and Volvo won’t be selling computers on wheels that are controlled from a central location. Nothing Musk has done is an innovation on the scale of the first McIntosh or Shelley’s model for the Gothic novel/monster story. He hasn’t shifted the cultural ground as much as Wordsworth and Coleridge and the Romantics did, or even Apple did(or the Beatles, for that matter).
In pop culture terms, Elmo is a one-hit wonder. And the near future is going to wonder why that one time was even a hit.
Edge lords are not innovators. Edge lords are toadies.
As for Isaacson: what Paul Rieckhoff said.
