Start six weeks ago:

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy has not yet launched an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden but a number of House Republicans have already voiced their support for Congress to do so.

Newsweek claimed that article “listed” all the House GOP members in favor of impeachment.

The article names six.

Per Raw Story, MTG named a few more:

"I tell you what, Kevin McCarthy is a yes vote for an impeachment inquiry. Jim Jordan is a yes vote. James Comer, Jason Smith. Many, many Republicans are a yes vote for an impeachment inquiry right now," Greene said. "And I'm going to argue that we will see we will see it put into action when we go back to Congress, possibly as early as next week."

That’s three more. “Many, many Republicans are a ‘yes’ vote” falls in the category of the anonymous military officers supporting Tuberville’s hold on promotions, or the big, strong men who are always crying to Trump. Will all those other Republicans decide they have to vote for impeachment? Maybe. Who knows? Even they may decide no to be Thelma or Louise this time.

This is still not a dozen people on record . I’ll toss in Chip Roy and Ronnie Jackson because they’re both batshit insane; but that’s still not a dozen. And sure, Matt Gaetz says he’ll move to “vacate the seat” and depose McCarthy. But the Speaker of the House is a constitutionally mandated office, and who’s gonna get the votes to take it from McCarthy?

These geniuses could be beaten at checkers by a five-year old.

Darrel Issa said, in one of those two articles, that he thought some Democrats would vote to impeach Biden! Checkers!? Just take Issa’s money now, and save a lot of time and trouble!

I’m left wondering why anyone is talking about this, especially since the Senate has approved 12 spending bills, while the House pees on its own leg and tells itself it’s raining:

The Senate Appropriations Committee not only passed all 12 spending bills, it passed all 12 with overwhelmingly bipartisan votes, something that feels as rare as hen’s teeth these days. (Also, it’s worth noting that McConnell himself sits on the committee and voted on all 12 bills.) The plan is to start moving those across the Senate floor for passage in the next week or so, leaving the House in the metaphorical dust," he wrote before contrasting the Senate Republicans with their GOP colleagues in the House.

And yet, “impeachment” is all anyone can talk about. The entire Senate passes 12 spending bills? 🦗 🦗. MTG bleats nonsense again on some obscure podcast?  “STOP THE PRESSES!! THIS IS NEWS!!!!”

It’s not like the House has anything to go on, anyway.

Last month, USA Today reported, the House Oversight Committee, "said in [a] report that it plans to continue to investigate Biden to find evidence of corruption, even as it acknowledged that it had no evidence that he financially benefited from the myriad foreign business dealings of his son Hunter."
