 The view from the mad house.

Hannity opens his show by saying that his sources are telling him Trump may be open “in the short term” to serving as House speaker.
Can they wait until December? Because he’s gonna be tied up in NYC until then.

He’ll be in D.C. in January, but he’ll be otherwise occupied. And I think he’s due back in NYC in March; if he isn’t going to Florida.

I don’t know if anybody told the House GOP, but the Speaker has to actually be able to function in the job. Trump can’t organize a two-car funeral procession.

The US now has a multi-party political system that requires cross-party coalitions to create stable government, as in many European countries. American politicians just don't know it yet.
The view from the old guard:
You can blame the Republican insurgence for bringing down McCarthy, but the bigger problem is that the GOP is now a countercultural movement of sour and resentful people who don’t even know what the hell they’re mad about most of the time until Fox tells them why they’re angry.
One view does not contradict the other.
