Let The Wild Rumpus Begin!

Whatever happened to “Gulf of America,” by the way? Anyone even remember that now? Every accusation, etc.
Pritzker: So, in case there was any doubt as to the motivation behind Trump's military occupations, take note. 13 of the top 20 cities in homicide rates have Republican governors. None of these cities is Chicago. Eight of the top ten states with the highest homicide rates are led by Republicans. None of those states is Illinois

Memphis, Tennessee. Hattiesburg, Mississippi have higher crime rates than Chicago. And yet Donald Trump is sending troops here and not there. Ask yourself why. If Donald Trump was actually serious about fighting crime in cities like Chicago, he, along with his congressional Republicans, would not be cutting over $800 million in public safety and crime prevention grants nationally, including cutting $158 million in funding to Illinois…

Trump is defunding the police
Preliminary fact statement for the court.
This is not a time to fall back into the reflexive crouch that I so often see, where the authoritarian creep by this administration is ignored in favor of some horse race piece on who will be helped politically by the president's actions.

Donald Trump wants to use the military to occupy a U.S. City, punish his dissidents and score political points. If this were happening in any other country, we would have no trouble calling it what it is a dangerous power grab.
Funny how this “never happens here,” and yet I remember Nixon, and Gingrich’s efforts to remove Clinton, and McConnell’s announced determination to limit Obama to one term, and his successful effort to keep Obama’s nominee off the Court. Oh, and DeLay’s determination to redistrict Texas mid-decade (everything old is new again; or the past is just prelude, whatever cliche you want to insert here. Funny how it’s always Republicans playing fast and loose with the rules, then crying “FOUL!” whenever Democrats do it. LBJ was the most effective, and most powerful, Democratic president of my lifetime (such as it is), and the least regarded, because he wasn’t as decent as Jimmy Carter. We could use an LBJ right now. For the nonce, we have Gov. Pritzker and Gov. Newsom.
Your remarks about this effort over the last several weeks have betrayed a continuing slip in your mental faculties, and are not fit for the auspicious office that you occupy.
Definitely setting this up for a court challenge.
