Let’s open our eyes. This isn’t a functioning democracy any longer when - in the middle of a high stakes funding fight - the President illegally suspends federal projects in states run by Democrats as a way to punish the political opposition.

I was pretty sure it stopped being a functioning democracy when things like this keep happening, without any legal repercussions.

WOW. Remember this May video of a US citizen wrestled to the ground by ICE agents and detained for an hour despite having a valid REAL ID?

It gets worse. Two weeks later, ICE did it AGAIN — handcuffed him and detained him for 20 minutes despite his REAL ID. Now the Institute for Justice is suing.

Forget Kavanaugh giving blessing to ICE arrests in violation of the Constitution. The real problem is DOJ doing nothing as ICE and Border Patrol chase down people on bicycles 🚲 yelling “FUCK TRUMP!” and charging people with “felony assault” when their face gets in the way of a government agent’s flying elbow. “Lawfare” is not indicting James Comey. Lawfare is giving thugs free rein to be thugs. And that’s not coming down incidentally from a poorly reasoned concurring opinion. That’s down to a DOJ that has stopped having anything to with justice.

Maybe we should give it a new name to reflect its new function. 🤔
