So am I the good guy or the bad guy this time?
Word tonight is the shooter at the Navy Yard maybe came into the secured base with a shotgun under his coat (in summer? In D.C.? Who writes plots with such obvious holes in them?) and killed armed guards and used their guns to kill 12 more people before dying in a police/guard shootout.
So the "good guy with a gun stopping a bad guy with a gun" scenario is still preserved, because we all know in the action movie the good guy is the one left standing, and the guys in the first scenes of the film might as well be wearing red shirts for all the life expectancy they have. It just doesn't count they they died and were disarmed because the good guys didn't die and killed the bad guy in the end.
Thus making America safe for the 2nd Amendment again.
(Yes, it is revolting to consider the brave officers who died at the hands of this madman mere "collateral damage," but it's clearly the way all our brains work now, or at least the brains of people who give a wet snap about gun control. The rest of us just shrug and say "I dunno" and ignore the mad rantings of the guy from the NRA, because..."I dunno."
*Shrug*)
To paraphrase an old truism...the Second Amendment cannot fail, it can only be failed.
