The Monks are Right

I woke up this morning, as usual, full of beans and words (well, inasmuch as both are metaphors), and just as ready to release the products of both, as is often my won't.

And then I went outside and took 10 minutes to finish a landscaping project, putting the last piece into place for this phase (what a ground sounding term for such a simply effort) of the plan.

So now my mind is on better things, and I can spare the world my...efforts.

"Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof."

I'm going to find some more work to do.  Idle hands are the devil's workshop.

  6. There are days I wish I'd been a monk. More of them as I get older. Or maybe I just need to get back to meditating on a more regular schedule.

  7. I have a friend who just spent some time in retreat at Abbey Gethsemani.

The best I've ever done is to visit there, with him, decades ago.

    I am extremely jealous.
