The owners of the New York Times normalize what they either don't really mind or approve. This is a newspaper that calls the worst dictators and criminals "Mr." as some kind of substitute for a moral standard, they care about their friggin' stylebook more than they care about representative democracy, never mind egalitarian democracy. They are all-in on anti-democratic elections, now as they were when they normalized the stealing of the 2000 election by Republicans.
