Of course, the bottom’s always further away than you think:The words "Black" and "woman" appear nowhere in the Constitution, so it's unclear if nominating a Black woman to the Supreme Court would even be constitutional.

And there’s always someone even more insane than Marsha Blackburn:Marsha Blackburn says Breyer's retirement is just a distraction from "wokeness" and "crt" pic.twitter.com/FmJntkSn5z

Newsmax host speculates that Stephen Breyer's retirement is part of a plot to install Hillary Clinton as president

Justices selected based on perceived reliability in achieving narrow and specific doctrinal results: merit based, admirable
One do wonder. Nothing to do with (white) identity politics, I'm sure.Reagan promised to appoint the first woman to #SCOTUS, and it was generally viewed as both a savvy political move and an overdue breaking of the glass ceiling.

Biden promises to appoint the first black woman to #SCOTUS, and the righties throw a fit.
I wonder what’s different… pic.twitter.com/eOnTFHpYZy
I assume from that that News Max has declared Hillary Clinton our first Black First Lady because T. Morrison said Bill was the first Black President. Only I doubt they ever heard of the great author or what she said.
ReplyDeleteTo call Jonathan Turley vile is to accentuate the positive about him. If you eliminated the negative he'd fall into non-existence.
Apparently Biden will appoint Harris to the Court, replace Harris with Hillary, then resign in time for Hillary to run as the incumbent.
DeleteI always remember when Ford nominated Nelson Rockefeller for VP the quaintness of him being attacked from the right by a number of right wingers, Goldwater among them. And then there was the Rev. Carl McIntyre. Makes me wonder what Falwell was doing back then but not enough to try to find out.
DeleteConsidering his new VP would have to get a majority in the House and Senate (if I recall correctly) Biden is too smart to want to have to have a fight over it. Someone somewhere said they thought he should appoint Anita Hill, lots of people have all kinds of fantasies.
