So, Trump Starts This Trial…

...with the judge on his side. Familiarity breeds contempt. One week of this, the press will get bored. Six weeks of this, they’ll stop covering it a month earlier. Maybe sooner. Trump hasn’t changed his tune in a year. Irony alert.๐Ÿšจ Six weeks of this and that meme is a dead horse.

(Listening to federal prosecutors kibbitz the judge this morning for dealing with pre-trial issues instead of getting in with jury selection. They’re all former federal prosecutors where the judge questions the pool and a jury can be selected in 39 minutes. State courts usually work like this. Whole pools will report for jury duty, sit around all day, and be dismissed when the case settles. Or when all the jurors are picked and the remaining pool is dismissed.

All a matter of what system you’re in. State jurors generally get their royal treatment after they are settled into the courtroom. Before that? Not so much.
