If Rand Paul were an ordinary citizen living in Houston, Texas, he couldn't get tested for the coronavirus without going to his private physician (and even then?).Senator Rand Paul has tested positive for COVID-19. He is feeling fine and is in quarantine. He is asymptomatic and was tested out of an abundance of caution due to his extensive travel and events. He was not aware of any direct contact with any infected person.— Senator Rand Paul (@RandPaul) March 22, 2020
I guess life is sometimes just like that, huh? It says something about why everyone should be tested (pace, Dr. Fauci).
Iceland currently has the highest per capita coronavirus infection rate in the world. But that’s not a bad thing. Because of its small population it is testing everybody, revealing a lot about the virus. Eg, half of all carriers exhibit no symptoms at all. https://t.co/ZPxLQuzLSm— Liz Sly (@LizSly) March 22, 2020
Sen. Paul was asymptomatic and yet still infected. The testing regimen in this country is positively Kafkaesque; and a danger to public health.
I hope the markets crash this week. Maybe that will work.
