It’s that winning attitude that’s going to persuade the jury to vote to acquit!Trump: The trial starts on Monday, which is long before a lot of people thought. The judge wants this to go as fast as possible. That’s for his reasons, not for my reasons. pic.twitter.com/1Ca5DjVbDW

Why do I think he doesn’t have Trump’s best interests at heart?Watters floating the suggestion that Trump should force the court to throw him in jail by posting statements made by Watters on Fox pic.twitter.com/9FYXtLr4uw

Same answer. Many people. Strongly. With tremendous tears in their eyes, I suspect. https://t.co/VxG56iqXCv

He still thinks that matters. Although honestly, I’m hoping CNN gets wise next week and quits giving Trump the oxygen.Trump appears to reference E. Jean Carroll and says ‘I have no idea who this person was’ pic.twitter.com/H1xw7fimwz

Anna Paulina Luna says she has been told that as soon as a Motion to Vacate is brought to the floor, at least two moderate Republicans will resign immediately rather than wait until end of their term to flip the House to the Democrats. pic.twitter.com/DyXNDTXrJu

Winning hearts and minds. That, or Gaetz can count votes.🗳️Gaetz says that he thinks that at least 1-3 of his “corrupt Republican colleagues” will take a bribe and vote for Hakeem Jeffries once a motion to vacate is successful. pic.twitter.com/cT7XlW7rkj

This will take a few tweets, but it’s worth it.Justice Merchan just read this out loud in. front. of. trump.
— Jose Pagliery (@Jose_Pagliery) April 19, 2024
I'm... not sure anyone's ever read this to Trump's face. pic.twitter.com/l51iJ0OavU
It’s about the Sandoval hearing, if Trump testifies. Among other things. Yeah, we’re pulling some threads together, here.It just doesn't stop. Trump's lawyers also want to stop the DA from bringing up a trial that—get ready for this—Justice Merchan oversaw himself.

Bove says there's "risk of confusion" to jurors if Trump gets asked about how the DA went after his companies for tax fraud. pic.twitter.com/xKlsSAA5Kh
The judge says he'll make his ruling Monday morning.
— Jose Pagliery (@Jose_Pagliery) April 19, 2024
Of course he does. Rich white man Presidential privilege.Trump's lawyers want to stop ex-White House staffers from testifying about about communications he had while in office.
— Jose Pagliery (@Jose_Pagliery) April 19, 2024
They also want to prevent jurors from seeing tweets he made while president.
(Trump seems to think nothing he did while in office can be brought up at trial.)
Now we see why Trump thinks this trial is going too fast. And why he needs more fundraising. After denying Trump's *third* attempt to review a minor point in a previous ruling by the judge, Merchan shows he's had enough.
— Jose Pagliery (@Jose_Pagliery) April 19, 2024
"Defense is literally targeting individual decisions one by one by one and writing pre-motion letters. That has to end..."
Nope. Not over yet.Merchan now serving up a dish of reality to the former president's legal team, which seems to think they can still avoid the inevitable.

"There's nothing else to reargue. We're going to have opening statements Monday morning. This trial is starting."
Now we’re done. Gonna be a long six weeks for Trump. Longer (and better) once CNN, et al., realize he has nothing new to say everyday. Although he might be prompted to talk about witnesses/jurors, and get his ass thrown in jail.Trump stayed fuming in his seat until the judge left the courtroom, then he got up and made straight for the wooden double doors in the back.
— Jose Pagliery (@Jose_Pagliery) April 19, 2024
He was furious. And he clicked his tongue as he walked.
