He’s also going to Chicago, whether they want him to or not. Oh, wait, he’s not, because the governor of Illinois is a Democrat. He’s sending the NG to Memphis, because the governor of Tennessee is a Republican. He thinks it less likely he’ll wind up in court, losing.

Despite the utter nonsense of the Sinister Six, they know their limits. So far they’ve given Trump what he wants without putting their names on it (they think). Hiding behind emergency relief postpones coming up with reasons to support Trump; maybe for years. It’s an act of cowardice they think protects them (Kavanaugh foolishly marked “PAID” to that). Tossing out the First Amendment is another matter, entirely. They invented a new immunity to protect the office of the President (and Trump). Shredding 1st Amendment jurisprudence for Trump is a bridge much too fucking far. History won’t be kind to them, either. Neither, I think, will the people. 

As I’ve said, it won’t take much more. Trump is underwater, and it won’t get better the way he’s going. The economy matters, but free speech matters, too. And Trump deciding who gets prosecuted based on what Trump or Bondi or a prosecutor considers the “hate” in their heart? Well, let’s just say, the DOJ is already dropping charges and losing in the grand jury at an unprecedented rate. The Sinister Six can’t rule on a case that never goes to trial. And even the attempt to prosecute makes 55% of the vote no longer unimaginable.

The voters won’t be kind. History won’t be kind, either.
