"No chaos! No chaos! You're the chaos!!"

If you want to challenge Trump's claim of 110 million followers, you can do it on his Twitter feed.  According to responses to this tweet, has has less than 35 million Twitter followers, and there are claims over half of that number is bots and multiple accounts (so, not 35 million individual followers; lots of counting people twice, or more, to get there).  Newsweek on May 30 of this year reported that 49% of Trump's twitter followers were fake.  CNN about six weeks ago noted that Katy Perry has over 100 million Twitter followers, while Trump has only 32.4 million.  Remember, about half of those are "fake."

Add to that his @POTUS Twitter account (18.8 million followers), Facebook pages (22.4 million likes and 1.7 million followers), YouTube subscribers (103,000 and 4.3 million), and Instagram (7 million followers). Trump started Snapchatting in January, but that platform doesn't list how many followers a user has.

Added up, that's 86.7 million followers.

Of course, many of those followers are the same people using different accounts.

An analysis run for CNN Tech by social media firm Socialbakers estimates that Trump has closer to 60 million actual people following him.
CNN was trying to get to Trump's claimed number of 100 million followers on social media.  You will not Trump has now increased that claim by 10% because 110 million sounds so much better than a measly 100 million.

However, what was true in May:

One of those [Twitter] accounts is that of Barack Obama, which boasts a whopping 89 million followers, good for third-most in the world behind Katy Perry and Justin Bieber.

In case you're wondering, 79 percent of Obama's followers are real.
Was also true in June:

The world's most followed politician on Twitter is still Obama, according to Socialbakers. The former president clocks in at nearly 91 million followers on one Twitter account alone.
You know that bugs Trump far more than what China is, or isn't, doing about North Korea.  Which is another problem.....

  1. Trump and his crowd size claims remind me of the old joke about women not being good carpenters because men always tell them four inches are eight.
