Oh, that society had a system for gathering facts on matters in dispute ("Did he lie? Did she lie? Did anybody lie?") and placing them before a select body who could be charged with finding the facts, within a system if rules of evidence and a set of laws for governance, and the conclusion of this body could be accepted as the facts of the dispute by all! And we could have people work for this system to keep it fair and just, and we could call those people "lawyers, and choose from among them "judges" to be sure the rules and laws are followed and fairly applied!

If this is a genius and effective strategy to make us all give up on the legal system, we deserve to lose our republic.
