The Department of Homeland Security will no longer be funded as of this evening.  Part of the DHS is the Border Patrol.  While agents will still protect the border, they won't get paid for it; because border security is so important not funding border security is the only way to secure the border.  Or something.  I dunno, it's almost Xmas, maybe seasonal drinking will help it all make sense

Yes!  Nuke the Senate so the Democrats can do whatever they want with it!  Let's not just shut down government, let's wreck it entirely!  In order to save the village, we have to destroy it!  (It's called "nuclear option" for a reason, ya know.)  Besides, why let a little thing like a law stand in the way of a big, beautiful wall?

The Democrats, whose votes we need in the Senate, will probably vote against Border Security and the Wall even though they know it is DESPERATELY NEEDED. If the Dems vote no, there will be a shutdown that will last for a very long time. People don’t want Open Borders and Crime!
