Fake Threats!

This news conference is proof Trump will never impose tariffs on Mexico.

He said Mexico was already coming to the table to discuss immigration and terms.  What is actually discussed is irrelevant.  What is actually decided is irrelevant.  Trump will declare victory and remove the tariffs before they are even written into imperatives or the first dime of them is collected.

He may announce the tariffs.  That doesn't mean they will be issued.  He may declare they have taken effect; that doesn't mean a penny of them has been collected.

His government is a government of lies.  He will declare victory and avoid the catastrophe of what tariffs on Mexico would do to the economy and to states like Texas (where they would not be taken lightly).  As for threatening senators:  Trump is always at his weakest when he makes threats.  He collapses faster than a plastic bag; every time.

Romney says Trump is simply using threat of tariffs to get Mexico to deal on immigration.
