I Really Don't Think

...racism is all that popular. This, after all:
is just a call back to "shithole countries." Which, it seems to me, makes it easier to make the race a referendum on Trump, especially with Trump doing the work for us. Trump is very good at handing his enemies the ammunition.  The point is to let it work against him. But given the primaries haven't even started yet, is it time to worry about the race against Trump? This stuff will keep.

What percentage of the electorate is following every word Trump says on Twitter, and every word his words prompt? Trump counter-programs the Democratic debates because they get better ratings than he does. There's a reason for that, and it isn't because people are ignoring Trump's racism. And Trump isn't worried about ratings just because of his ego. He understands that attention matters, and that he isn't going to win on his accomplishments.

And there's the fact that, while candidates start campaigning earlier and earlier, the real campaign doesn't start until the primaries end.  And with 20+ Democratic candidates, the campaign against the incumbent can't start yet. He's not helping himself with this stuff, but when people are paying attention and about to vote is the prime time to bring is back up. Besides, it really does speak for itself:
