Pompeo to Laura Ingraham: "There is no doubt that there were a series of imminent attacks that were being plotted by Qasem Soleimani, and we don’t know precisely when and we don’t know precisely where, but it was real."— Nicholas Wadhams (@nwadhams) January 10, 2020

As many as four?
As many as four?
In an interview with Fox News’ Laura Ingraham scheduled to air on Friday night, the president claims that Suleimani was an “imminent” danger to Americans abroad because of his plans to attack multiple embassies.Sure, why not? Four is bigger than one, right? Let's say four! Why four, now?
Ingraham asked the president to specifically name what the slain Iranian general had targeted.
“We will tell you that probably it was going to be the embassy in Baghdad,” Trump said. “I can reveal that I believe it probably would’ve been four embassies.”

Why would Trump worry about GOP senators and impeachment?— Eric Columbus (@EricColumbus) January 10, 2020
—he wants more than “No” votes: his goal is complete vindication and praise without any “inappropriate but not impeachable” caveats.
—he may fear other shoes dropping
—he’s famously paranoid https://t.co/rZXENmXDDx
Anyone who doubts Trump’s concern over the Senate impeachment trial should check his feed this morning — he re- or quote-tweeted 15 GOP senators (plus Manchin) on random stuff, just to butter them up. Not normal for him.— Eric Columbus (@EricColumbus) January 10, 2020
