Sh*t About To Get Real

I have received an e-mail from a local group announcing that the  Harris County clerk (an elected Democrat) urging voters 65 and older to vote by mail to avoid contagion.  The County Clerk in Texas is charged with conducting elections, which are overseen by the Texas Secretary of State, also an elected office. The Harris County clerk has said she will seek direction on this use of absentee ballots from the Secretary of State.

And now comes Ken Paxton, effectively saying he will sue the County Clerk of Texas’ most populous county for her announcement.

This could be fun.

(Responding to the comment: we do. It’s called the Voting Rights Act. CJ Roberts decided we don’t need it anymore.)

  1. There has got to be a federal law against trying to suppress the vote and to not count it, aimed at everyone from Supreme Court to Congress to President on down.
