Also possible Trump believes that if he acts as if Covid-19 has been beaten, people (or at least many people) will believe him. That would be consistent with his political/developer history. Not sure that will work in this kind of crisis. https://t.co/lHqlIbBVQ2— adam nagourney (@adamnagourney) May 6, 2020
Especially if people keep dying, and Trump keeps claiming the death statistics are "fake news"!
McEnany: "There were supposed to be 2.2 million deaths & we're at a point where we are far lower than that, and it's thanks to the great work of the Task Force & the leadership of President Trump." It's coming.
a) As long as it's not 2 million, it's still a "success!"
b) Or it's "fake news!"
c) Or it's the governors' fault.
No, I don't think the majority of voteres in any state is this stupid. I also don't think death/economic destruction/healthcare collapse is a great motivator to re-elect the guy in charge when all this happened.
WH Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany: If we tested every American right now, we would have to retest them again an hour later.— Yamiche Alcindor (@Yamiche) May 6, 2020
She said it is "nonsensical" to test everyone and that vulnerable populations at nursing homes or ppl working in meat processing plants should be tested.
So the rest of us should get back to work, and meat packers get back to work ASAP after being tested ("Even if it's meaningless an hour later?" "Shaddup!") Same for the staff of nursing homes, right? They need to ready to lay down their lives for minimum wage and the American Way of Life!
