Funny thing, I'm writing lecture notes right now for an on-line British lit survey course. I've just gotten up to Chaucer.
Trump can make gibberish out of the simplest statement. And here's the problem with the tendency to summarize what a public official says:

Trump spoke gibberish. It shouldn't be translated into English.
Aw, he's just little Sally Sunshine who will certainly declare it as winning when we pass 2000000 deaths. I wish someone would get him to say the Mr Dooley line "people are dying who never died before." Though it might be too long for him to learn by rote.
